Birmingham, MI, April 10, 2024—The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) named MainStreet Design Build in Birmingham, MI, 2024, National Contractor of the Year (CotY) winner in the Residential Addition Over $500,000 category in its’ annual awards competition.

“We’re honored and thrilled to win,” exclaims Christine Ramaekers, Creative Director of Interior Design at MainStreet. “Our Birmingham clients expect the utmost personalized attention a remodeling firm can offer, and the success of our extensive residential remodel with multiple additions on Keswick Drive exemplifies our obsession with exceeding their expectations and delivering quality every step of the way.”

MainStreet Design Build began this award-winning project as they do every renovation: by understanding the unique needs of their client. In this case, a family of six that frequently hosts large church gatherings in their home, therefore needed multiple expanded indoor and outdoor entertainment areas. “Luckily their spacious Bloomfield Hills home and 1-acre lot offered ample room for expansion,” admits project manager Ryan Stark.

The MainStreet Design Build transformation of the Keswick Drive home included a new first-floor primary suite with a luxurious bathroom spa experience, an adjoining library and office with a new side entrance, open kitchen redesign with a walk-in pantry, expanded family room with stone fireplace and pine ceilings, large new dining area, and a revitalized backyard oasis complete with a grill and all the fixings.

“We were laser focused throughout the entire remodeling process on seamlessly integrating every new addition into the existing design,” emphasizes interior designer Christopher Swint, ASID. “That meant recreating the intricate glazed brick designs, handcrafted corbels, and gracefully curving rooflines. Each detail contributed to the distinct charm of their 2007 French country style home, which we kept meticulously intact.”

Each year, NARI presents CotY Awards to members who have demonstrated outstanding work
through their remodeling projects. National CotY winners were announced at the 2024 Evening of Excellence on April 5th, 2024. Winners were selected anonymously by an impartial panel of judges who are experts from within the industry. The CotY Awards are the highest form of recognition by industry leaders and peers. NARI received over 600 entries from across the United States representing over $230 million in remodeling projects.
