At MainStreet, we’ve taken the design-build process to heart. We’ve assembled a dedicated team that guides your project from initial conception to final completion and beyond, ensuring a seamless experience every step of the way.

In our design-build approach, you can expect to work with a dedicated point person for each critical phase of your project. Unlike other companies that may outsource aspects like architecture or interior design, we handle everything in-house. 

Within our company, we boast a comprehensive design team comprising architects and interior designers. Additionally, our production team, consisting of project managers, lead carpenters, and skilled carpenters, is committed to seeing your vision through from start to finish.

Furthermore, we have a dedicated warranty manager who continues to provide service and support long after the project is complete.

MainStreet Design Build Process

Phase 1 - Design

You begin by sharing your conceptual vision of an ideal remodel with us. Whether you’re imagining a kitchen, bathroom, room addition, or an entire home renovation, we step in as your creative partner. Once you sign a Design Agreement, we embark on the journey together to bring your dream home to life. We’ll guide our construction team as they turn your vision into reality.

First, you: 

  • Receive conceptual floor plan drawings after documentation of all existing conditions
  • Collaborate with us to create a realistic budget
  • See those conceptual drawings transformed into detailed three-dimensional renderings
  • Establish realistic material allowances
  • Receive a complete scope of work and detailed cost estimate

Phase 2 - Pre-Construction

As you progress into the next phase, the process initiates with the signing of a Construction Agreement, shaped by the insights gained during the Design Phase. This signifies the official start of your project’s construction.

Together, we’ll assemble your dedicated team, laying the foundation for effective communication and logistical coordination. We’ll also take care of any bureaucratic requirements necessary before construction can begin, ensuring a smooth transition into the building phase.

You will:

  • Meet your Interior Designer, who will collaborate closely with you to finalize all of your material selections.
  • Register within our personal web-based client portal for streamlined communication.
  • Meet your project manager, who will develop a construction schedule tailored to your project.
  • Collaborate with our architectural department to finalize your permit and construction drawings.

Phase 3 - Construction

Now, your project is ready for actual construction. Thanks to our integrated approach, we seamlessly convey your initial vision to our expert craftspeople who bring it to life. Throughout your build, your dedicated project manager, who has been with your remodel from the start, has all the information needed to ensure this crucial phase is completed on time, within budget, and to your satisfaction.

Parts of this phase include:

  • Ensuring permit documents are on site
  • Setting-up bi-weekly progress meeting schedule
  • Updating the schedule weekly
  • Facilitating milestone progress meetings (framing, plumbing, electrical, cabinets & trim, final walkthrough)
  • Generating a final punch list
  • Conducting a home orientation walkthrough
  • Completing your project

Phase 4 - Warranty

Finally, your warranty coverage begins immediately after your project is completed. Our dedicated warranty manager will reach out to you within a year to ensure that you are still delighted with your remodel and address any questions or concerns you may have. Whether it’s providing hands-on personal assistance or coordinating repairs with our team, our goal is to ensure your complete satisfaction.

The role of our dedicated warranty manager is unique to MainStreet Design Build and is filled by Marq, who brings nearly two decades of experience in residential construction to the table. With Marq at the helm, every project is expertly managed, and warranty claims are addressed within 24 hours.
