Community

Ingrained in our culture is a desire to contribute to the community in which we live and work. That is why you will see us donating our time and resources to several organizations that are near and dear to our hearts all year round.

Shades of Pink Foundation

This year, MainStreet Design Build is supporting the Shades of Pink Foundation in their first annual charity golf outing.  MainStreet is not only sponsoring the golf balls, we will be participating in the event as well hoping to raise $75,000 by July 19th. The Shades of Pink Foundation helps hundreds of patients facing financial difficulties due to their breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery. Since 2005, they have helped hundreds of breast cancer patients and survivors throughout Southeast Michigan providing financial support by assisting with utility bills, rent and mortgage payments, COBRA payments, daycare fees, transportation costs, and other bills. Help us achieve our goal!

Toys For Tots, Run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve

Each year, MainStreet Design Build supports Toys For Tots and their efforts to present holiday toys to less fortunate children in Oakland County. We typically start collecting new, unwrapped toys at our office the last week in November, which runs through the 3rd week in December. Thanks to our charitable supporters, over the past two years alone, we have managed to collect over 200 gifts for children in need. This year, Toys For Tots is facing a critical toy shortage. Help us fill our box with new, unwrapped toys. Your gift today will allow us to place critically needed toys, books, and games into the hands of children whose parents have fallen on difficult times. And, we’re even making it easy to donate.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County assists hundreds of families each year through programs in homeownership, homeowner-occupied critical home repairs, veterans housing assistance, and financial education and mentoring to those not yet ready for the homeownership experience.

For several years, MainStreet Design Build has been a proud sponsor of Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County, volunteering hours on Habitat projects and sponsoring the annual Fall Extravaganza that raises money to provide safe and affordable housing for low-income families in Oakland County every November.

MainStreet’s very own Steve Ramaekers was also appointed to the Board of Directors in May 15, 2015 and spent several years serving the organization well, actively pursuing the organization’s mission to put God’s love into action, bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.

In celebration of our silver anniversary in 2016, MainStreet Design Build partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County again, along with Lawrence Technological University (LTU) and other industry leaders to build a home using a new community-focused design developed by university students. This partnership worked to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building this affordable home, providing a “hand up” and not a “hand out.”

If you have any interest in helping us support this fabulous organization, and building hope for the community, we welcome you to join us.

Seaholm High School’s Annual Career Day

With two boys of their own (both active in the community), it was an easy decision for both Steve and Christine Ramaekers to support the local high school. For the past few years, MainStreet Design Build has participated in Seaholm High School’s Annual Career Day, joining over 70 businesses in helping students realize their goals of higher education and exposing them to various career choices. During Career Day, students are given an opportunity to visit with MainStreet owners individually, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the skills and education required for a job in remodeling.

Thank you for allowing us this fortunate privilege to give back to our community each year.

We love where we live – but we needed to add more space for our growing family. We were impressed with Steve’s design suggestions for better use of space and enhancements to our plans. They really do focus on quality and integrity in every aspect of their work.
