Ingrained in our culture is a desire to contribute to the community in which we live and work. That is why you will see us donating our time and resources to these special organizations all year round: Habitat for Humanity and the Toys for Tots program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

After many years of involvement with and support of Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County, MainStreet’s very own Steve Ramaekers was appointed to the Board of Directors, effective May 15, 2015.

As a board member, Steve serves voluntarily and is not compensated for his time. He, among its other board members, actively pursues the organization’s mission to put God’s love into action, bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.

In 2016 alone, Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County will assist over 50 families through programs in homeownership, homeowner-occupied critical home repairs, veterans housing assistance, and financial education and mentoring to those not yet ready for the homeownership experience.

Now, in celebration of our silver anniversary, MainStreet Design Build is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County again, along with Lawrence Technological University (LTU) and other industry leaders to build a home using a new community-focused design developed by university students. This partnership will work to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building this affordable home, providing a “hand up” and not a “hand out.” Learn more.

Come build with us!

Thank you for allowing us this fortunate privilege to give back to our community each year.
