The homeowners loved the size and charm of their kitchen, but over time it began to feel dated and less functional for how they live today. The closed-off eating nook limited flow and made the space feel more segmented than it needed to be. With no island and only a rug anchoring the center of the room, they saw an opportunity to improve both the layout and storage, creating a kitchen that felt more open, more connected, and better suited for everyday living and gathering.

Remodeling Solution

To open up the space and improve functionality, the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room was removed, creating a seamless, open-concept layout that now brings everything together in one cohesive space. A new, functional island was added to serve as the heart of the kitchen, providing additional prep space and much-needed storage.

The design was elevated with Plain & Fancy cabinetry in a Sherwin-Williams Green Earth finish, paired with Top Knobs hardware and a discreet hidden pantry. The kitchen now features a Blanco sink, Brizo faucet, Sub-Zero Wolf appliances, a custom Coppersmith hood, Cove dishwasher, and curated Visual Comfort lighting—bringing together performance, beauty, and thoughtful detail throughout the space.
