MainStreet Design Build at 2012 Habitat for Humanity
MainStreet Design Build at the 2012 Habitat for Humanity Build

We’ve had a couple of great community involvement events over the last month! Last Thursday, we hosted the Birmingham Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce (BBCC) Member Coffee. This was the first experience in hosting this worthwhile event, but will certainly not be our last! With almost 40 attendees, our home design studio was almost a full house!

The Chamber represents six communities including Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms and Franklin. We really enjoyed getting to know our fellow BBCC members, the opportunity to hear about their businesses, and sharing our own story of over 20 years in excellence in remodeling. As both business owners and residents of this vibrant community, we enjoy supporting opportunities that promote synergistic relationships. Being able to chat face-to-face is a wonderful thing!

In addition, our friend Tim Ruggles, Executive Director/CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County (HFHOC), was able to attend the event and talk about the organization. HFHOC has always held a special place in our hearts. For over 15 years, MainStreet Design Build has contributed to HFHOC through donations, fundraising events and volunteering for the home builds. In fact, just last month, a crew of five carpenters from MainStreet Design Build volunteered their own time, without pay, to replace a badly deteriorated roof on this year’s 2012 Habitat Build. We are so proud of our employees for volunteering their time and so thankful for HFHOC and all that they do. By giving a hand up and not a hand out, HFHOC has helped people to get back on their feet since 1976.
