Grosse Pointe Farms Interior Design

Inspired by artist, Akiko Hiromoto, from Hokkaido Japan, the interior design goal for this stately Grosse Pointe Farms home was to create an overall aesthetically pleasing environment combined with function, creativity, and sophistication. Interior Designer, Christopher Swint, ASID, was eager to use the exploration of process and color to fuse the serene and modern newly renovated kitchen with just the right pop of color. This was achieved in the nook with the Florence Knoll Saarinen Executive Armless chairs in teal velvet, a standout piece in modern design for the last 70 years. This is all accessorized by the surrounding furniture pieces from Bernhardt Furnishings, William Sonoma Home, and custom framed mirror and accessories.

As an extension to the kitchen, this great room with the soaring ceiling required not only form but function for a busy family of six. Beautiful oversized Vanguard sofas paired with white leather and satin brass Thayer Coggin chairs not only maximize the seating for the large family but welcome guests into the room with the beautiful rear detail. Christopher added final touches to the space through textural elements such as rustic wood and gold metal for the perfect flow from nook to kitchen to great room.
