It's that time of year again when your kitchen gets a real workout. When friends and family gather at your home for the holidays, you'll want your kitchen to be both beautiful and functional. In our last newsletter, we gave you some ideas on how to design your kitchen with interior barn doors. This edition, we have some fabulous ideas on how to choose the right range hood for your kitchen remodel (see below).

Also, take a look at the beautiful projects completed in and around your neighborhood this year. From an 1,800 sq. ft. basement remodel to a complete home renovation on Orchard Lake, we encourage you to preview our latest home remodeling projects. Feel free to ask us questions about any of the details.

Watching the leaves change color reminds us again that the holidays are right around the corner. Remembering the special people in our lives at Thanksgiving fills our hearts with joy. We wish you and all those close to you a joyous holiday season!

An Orchard Lake Cottage Makeover Turns Into a Completely New Lake Front Paradise

Originally built in the early twentieth century, this Orchard Lake cottage was purchased almost 10 years ago by a wonderful couple—empty nesters with an appreciation for stunning views, modern amenities and quality craftsmanship. They hired MainStreet Design Build to design and remodel their home to fit their needs exactly.
A Bloomfield Township Unfinished Basement Gets a Much Needed Modern Makeover

This gem of a custom home not only featured a modern, open floor plan with great flow, it also had an 1,800 sq. ft. unfinished basement. Choosing the Right Range Hood for Your Kitchen Remodel

If you're like millions of other Americans, you're dreaming of a new kitchen. And, with that beautiful new kitchen, it's important to think about ventilation. Admittedly, the actual process of ventilation is rather boring — something usually best left to the experts — but selecting a range hood style for your kitchen can be both fun and exciting. These days, there are so many options for range hoods that you're bound to find one to fit your taste, whether you're a traditionalist, minimalist, or somewhere in between. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Make Christmas Wishes Come True

Once again, MainStreet Design Build is partnering with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, the premier community action program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, to bring joy this holiday season to less fortunate children in need. Help us give the gift of play by donating new, unwrapped toys—to be collected in our office starting in November. Details to follow.

For this Ferndale, Michigan, home, the transformation from plain to quaint was nothing short of magical too. "The goal was to completely transform the home's exterior into a charming cottage without changing the footprint," says Steven Ramaekers, Director of Architecture at MainStreet Design Build. Here are a few of the elements that contribute to the fabulous finished result.
